Residents of coastal areas in Florida are probably all too aware of the risk of damage caused by flooding. Florida has endured its fair share of disasters of this type in recent history alone. It is advisable that residents even in inland areas ensure they have adequate flood insurance, just like their coastal counterparts.

Tampa resident are all too familiar with the risk of floods. This was brought home again recently in the aftermath of tropical storm Debby. While those in low lying areas may already have flood insurance, it is worth noting that even those that might not be considered to live in a flood prone area should seriously think about purchasing coverage.

Summer rain can provide relief from the heat, but it also brings with it the possibility of polluting Tampa waterways and other problems. Run off from storms similar to the recent Tropical Storm Debby can impact homes in the area. Water backing up because of drains flooding can cause damage to your home, and a subsequent insurance claim.
